Game Details:

  • Dynamic Difficulty: Adjusts puzzle difficulty and enemy numbers based on player performance.
  • Limited Arsenal: Realistic weapons like pistols/steel pipes are prone to jamming/wear.
  • Multiple Realities: 5 endings depend on key items and exploration level.
  • Acoustic Horror: Transmits the feeling of "invisible monsters" approaching through controller vibration.

Use direction keys to move, □ button to attack, ○ button to use flashlight/radio. Puzzles require combining map and environmental clues (such as hospital drug codes), and switching to the "Otherworld" forcibly empties the inventory. The hidden weapon "Laser Gun" requires entering a specific birthday in the school, and completing the game unlocks "Ultra Hard Mode" which removes all save points!

Editor's Recommendation:

This classic masterpiece that defined the "psychological horror" genre creates an unprecedented sense of unease with radio static and limited visibility! The rusted bloodiness of the "Otherworld" and the mist of the "Real World" form a psychoanalytic metaphor, and the multiple ending design (including the famous "UFO ending") encourages players to explore every dark corner. Although the PS1 graphics are simple, the sense of fear that subverts cognition when witnessing the walls peel off into flesh cages for the first time is still unmatched by any game!
