Game Details:

Sega, the developer of 《Star Wars Arcade》, used its Model 1 arcade system to present the space battles of 《Star Wars》 in full 3D polygons for the first time, causing a sensation in the arcade world at the time. The game's flow is designed as three main levels, inspired by classic battles from the movie:

1. Asteroid Belt Interception: Players chase and destroy a large number of TIE fighters in the asteroid belt.
2. Super Star Destroyer Raid: Players need to concentrate their firepower to destroy a huge Super Star Destroyer.
3. Death Star Attack: The final level is the classic "Death Star" surface defense battle from the movie 《A New Hope》, with the goal of flying into the trench and firing proton torpedoes to destroy the Death Star.

The game offers first-person and third-person view switching, and allows players to choose between X-wing fighters or the more powerful Y-wing fighters. In two-player mode, the main player is responsible for driving and the main gun, while the secondary player controls a moving aiming crosshair to fire secondary weapons, greatly increasing the cooperative fun and arcade experience of the game.

Although the process of 《Star Wars Arcade》 is short, as an "eat-coin" arcade game, the difficulty is high, especially testing the player's ability to dodge and concentrate firepower. The following are the key points of the guide for the three levels:

Level 1: Asteroid Belt Interception

• Concentrate Firepower: The goal of this level is to destroy a certain number of TIE fighters. Because TIE fighters are small and numerous, it is recommended that players remain calm when aiming, and give priority to attacking those enemies with a high **"threat value"** (i.e., those flying directly towards you).
• Use the Lock-On Function: The game has a lock-on function (usually another button besides the firing key), which can automatically track locked enemies, effectively improving the hit rate.
• Survival Priority: Try to use the maneuverability of the spaceship (or the driver's operation in two-player mode) to avoid the shooting of TIE fighters, especially in the asteroid belt, be careful not to hit asteroids. Keep moving and avoid being surrounded and targeted by enemy aircraft.

Level 2: Super Star Destroyer Raid

• Key Targets: Players must destroy the key defense turrets and reactor core on the surface of the Star Destroyer. The Star Destroyer itself does not move, but its dense anti-aircraft firepower is the main threat.
• Attacking in Stages: The targets will be divided into different attack areas, each time concentrating firepower to eliminate all turrets in the current area, and aim at the flashing weaknesses. In two-player mode, the gunner should continuously strafe the turrets, while the driver is responsible for dodging the fire and maintaining a stable course.
• Use the Hull: When flying near the huge model of the Star Destroyer, you can use its grooves and structures to dodge some of the incoming laser beams. But be careful to avoid hitting the hull.

Level 3: Death Star Trench Run

• Final Sprint: This level is a restoration of the classic scene in the movie, but it is extremely difficult. Players need to fly at high speed in a narrow trench, avoiding obstacles, turrets, and Darth Vader's TIE Advanced prototype.
• Smooth Flight is Key: In the trench, try to maintain a smooth flight in the middle position. Frequent and large maneuvers can easily hit the wall and lead to failure.
• Ignore Minor Enemies: Unless they pose a direct threat to your course, don't waste time shooting down the turrets on the trench walls. Your only target is the exhaust port at the end.
• Fire Torpedoes: When you reach the exhaust port, the system will prompt you to fire proton torpedoes. Make sure your ship is steadily aligned with the target and press the torpedo fire key (usually the lock key or a separate button) within the time limit to complete the mission and destroy the Death Star.
