Game Details:

WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game first appeared in arcades in 1995 and was later ported to multiple home console platforms, including Super Nintendo, PlayStation, and Mega Drive. The biggest feature of the game is its unique "wrestling + fighting" hybrid style. It uses digitized images of real-life actors as character models, but the action and move design is extremely exaggerated, such as "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's Stone Cold Stunner, The Undertaker's ghost summons, etc., which far exceeds the scope of real wrestling and is closer to the special skills of fighting games. The game offers multiple modes, such as single-player challenges and two-player battles, with the goal of defeating all opponents and winning the "WrestleMania" event. Each character has a unique attack combination, special moves, and finishing moves. The controls are simple and direct, emphasizing quick reactions and the use of combos, bringing players a unique arcade experience.

Game Guide:

  • Master Special Moves: Each character has at least two or more special moves with high damage and exaggerated animation effects. For example, Andre the Giant's "Sumo Slam" or Razor Ramon's "Razor's Edge". These skills are the key to quickly reducing the opponent's health, and you must be familiar with their move commands and use them at the right distance and timing. Usually, when the opponent is down or has a defensive flaw, it's the best time to release.
  • Basic Combo Combinations: The game provides simple button combinations to perform continuous attacks, such as a combination of light punch, heavy punch, and special attack. Although the commands are simple, they can effectively suppress opponents after hitting, preventing them from having a chance to counterattack. Remember: the end of the combo can usually be connected with a wrestling move or special move to achieve maximum damage.
  • Energy Bar and Defense: The health bar in the game is designed to be easier to consume, and defense (usually holding the direction button to retreat) is useful, but it's easy to be broken when suffering continuous heavy blows. More effective defense is to counterattack at the moment the opponent makes a move. Some characters have quick counterattack skills that can immediately turn the situation around.
  • Scene Interaction and Props: There are no props or off-field battles in the game like traditional wrestling games, but you can use the boundaries to perform some special jumping attacks or push the opponent towards the ring post for continuous strikes.
  • Finishing Moves: When the opponent's health is extremely low and in a state of dizziness (stars appear on the head), this is the best time to use the character's finishing move. Finishing moves usually have unique animations and guarantee a high success rate of suppression. For example, Bret Hart's "Sharpshooter" or Shawn Michaels' "Sweet Chin Music". Successful finishing moves often end the match directly.
