Game Details:

Back in its day, this game was famous for its cutting-edge visual presentation and immersive feel. The game is divided into outdoor and indoor scenes: outdoors utilizes a top-down view similar to *The Legend of Zelda*, where players must traverse jungles, cross electric fences, and find key items. Once inside a functional building (like the visitor center or power shed), the perspective switches to a pseudo-3D first-person mode. Players not only have to deal with various dinosaurs but also solve complex puzzles, such as rebooting computer systems. Different platform versions had their own unique features; the Genesis version even allowed players to play as a Velociraptor, experiencing the thrill of hunting humans from a predator's perspective.

Game Guide:

  • Perspective Switching Strategy: When exploring outdoors, try to stick to the edges to avoid Velociraptor charges in open areas. After switching to the first-person view indoors, your vision is limited, so it's recommended to rely on audio cues to locate enemies. You'll hear distinct footsteps when dinosaurs are near; having a cattle prod or tranquilizer gun ready is key to survival.
  • Core Resource Management: Ammunition and supplies are extremely scarce on the island. For smaller dinosaurs (like Compsognathus), try to use melee attacks or evasive movement to get past them; powerful weapons like the rocket launcher should be saved for facing a Triceratops charge or a T-Rex encounter.
  • Quest Progression:
    • Power System: The most urgent task early in the game is to find batteries and restart the generator; otherwise, many electronic locks cannot be opened.
    • ID Card Collection: Search for scientist ID cards scattered across the map (like Nedry's or Hammond's), as they are the only way to access high-level lab areas.
    • Dinosaur Egg Collection: If you're playing the SNES version, collecting all the scattered dinosaur eggs is necessary to achieve the perfect ending.
  • Boss Fight Tactics: When facing the T-Rex, a direct confrontation is a death wish. Use terrain obstacles (like large rocks or sturdy buildings) to kite it, use timed lures to disrupt its sense of smell, and then find an opportunity to quickly escape its territory.
